Camping is a fantastic way to get out there and forget about your troubles. Every day life can be full of anxiety and stress, so its good to step away from it every once in a while. Before you go camping, however, its useful to keep what youre about to read here in mind at all times.

Always locate your shelter before dark when you are camping. Once blackness falls out there in the woods, it can be extremely difficult to pitch a tent, find good firewood and prepare food. That can be especially true for someone who live in the suburbs and is not used to total darkness. Try to avoid setting up after the sun sets.

Bring a plastic garbage bag and put all of you familys dirty laundry in it. This keeps the items from mixing in with your clean clothing. It also makes things convenient for you when you return home. You can simply dump out the bag in your washing machine and begin working on it all immediately.

When you are planning a camping adventure, make sure you pack the appropriate clothing for your trip. Check the weather forecast and bring the clothing that will be needed on your trip. If it is going to be cold, make sure you have the appropriate coats, gloves, and shoes. Remember to also pack a rain poncho no matter what the weather forecast predicts.

With camping, comes the campfire. Make sure your campfire is in an open space and far enough away from brush or trees so you dont run the risk of a stray spark catching them on fire. Surround the fire with stones to help keep it contained. Most importantly, never leave any campfire unattended. If you need to leave for any reason, make sure the campfire is extinguished completely.

If youre bringing kids on your camping trip, over-pack for them. Camping can be a bit messy. The dirt is like a magnet that draws your children into the mess. This means you should prepare to have dirty children. The solution is not to stop them from getting dirty, but to have clean clothes ready for them after they are done. Dont be caught without something you need!

Before you leave on your trip, use your backyard to help you work out the kinks in your camping equipment. Put up your tent to make sure you know (or remember!) how to put it up. This will also allow you to see if anything needs to be patched up. It will make it that much easier for you when you get to the campsite.

A Frisbee makes for excellent support under paper plates, and can avoid the usual camping spillage and drops! Grab as many of them as you have around your home or yard, or pick up a few at your local dollar-type store. They conveniently stack for easy, space-saving packing and are tremendously helpful with little ones meals.

Exercise

Take a sleeping pad to help you get a good nights sleep and enjoy your camping trip more. An egg shell shaped foam pad or a rubber exercise mat type pad will provide protection from sticks, stones and uneven ground. This kind of padding can also be arranged on the floor of your tent to prevent rips and tears.

Now that you know what camping entails, youll be able to come up with a plan so your trip goes more smoothly. Knowing what to expect is only part of the fun though, the main part would be actually getting out there and doing it. Use what you have learned here, and have a stress free trip!
